How to raise Cow's milk ph?
« on: September 07, 2014, 11:47:29 AM »
I don't know if this is the right subforum,
i've read on google that the average ph of whole cow milk is around 6.6, how can i raise it to around 7.35-7.40?
Can i use sodium bicarbonate? How much? Thanks.
I think my milk has a ph of 6.4

Why would you wish to do this?

To try to imitate human's milk which has that kind of ph more or less.

Thanks, i've read about it, sadly it says nothing about increasing it's ph but the page only helps to recognize natural problems in milk like bacteria or breast infections.

These dudes tried to do something similar:

Because i don't have sodium or potassium citrate and i wish someone could help me to make an accurate ph solution of  around 7.4 , plus they used milk formula, meanwhile i want to use whole cow's milk.

It's cheap stuff, about £40 a kilo, but you may get it cheaper than that.
