A piece of solid carbon dioxide, with a mass of 8.6 g, is placed in a 4.0-L otherwise empty container at 22°C.

(a) What is the pressure in the container after all the carbon dioxide vaporizes?

(b) If 8.6 g solid carbon dioxide were placed in the same container but it already contained air at 740 torr, what would be the partial pressure of carbon dioxide?

(c) What would be the total pressure in the container after the carbon dioxide vaporizes?

Helium is collected over water at 25°C and 1.00 atm total pressure. What total volume of gas must be collected to obtain 0.562 g of helium? (At 25°C the vapor pressure of water is 23.8 torr.)

1.What is the final pressure in the container if 14.5 L of helium gas at 725 mm Hg is expanded to 22.5 L? Assume the temperature and the amount of gas are held constant.

2.What is the final pressure of 250. mL of a gas at 355 mm Hg and 18.5°C if the gas is heated to 97.0°C? Assume the volume and the amount of gas are held constant.

13.5 g of oxygen gas occupies 18.0 L in an expandable container at a particular temperature and pressure. What volume will the the gas occupy if 40.5 g of oxygen are added to container. Assume the pressure and temperature are held constant.

What is the final pressure if 1.20 g of XeF4 gas are introduced into an evacuated 2.80 L container at 77.0°C?

Al(s) + H2SO4(aq)=   Al2(SO4)3(aq) + H2(g)
Consider the unbalanced equation above. What volume of H2 will be produced at 52.0°C and 780. torr if 3.50 g of Al are reacted with 115 mL of 0.160 M H2SO4? Use molar masses with at least as many significant figures as the data given.

A mixture of 7.50 g He and 24.5 g Ne has a pressure of 640. mm Hg. What is the partial pressure of each of the gases?
