Heat Exchanger for Ammonium Hydroxide System
« on: November 22, 2014, 12:30:18 PM »
Hi Chemical Forums,

I'm creating a small scale Ammonia waste heat recovery system (i.e. mini Kalina Cycle). The system will need to contain two heat exchangers.

Aqueous Ammonia reacts with copper, zinc, and many alloys which are common in heat exchangers (http://www.researchgate.net/post/Is_copper_suitable_in_ammonia_system). I'm wondering what types of heat exchangers/recuperators are able to handle aqueous Ammonia solutions.

Thank You,

EJ

Probably these exchangers have a coating with halar or teflon.
