Calculate the instrumental detection limite
« on: December 27, 2014, 01:40:36 PM »
Hi guys,
This is my first post here, might not be the last!
I'm concerned about solving this question below.
....
Calculate the instrumental detection limit needed for quantitative analysis of a urine sample containing 3 ng/ml. Remember that the detection limit is based on 3 times the standard deviation of the blank and the quantification level is based on 10 timed the standard deviation of the blank. The urine sample is diluted 10 times in 0.5% nitric acid before measurement.

There is an equation for determination instrumental detection of limit (DOL);  DOL = 3.3 *SD/S
SD= Standard deviation of the response.
S= slope of the values of standard deviation on the linear reg.

My problem is how we can calculate this question by using that equation. Are there are any way to solve that question?

Your problem has three sentences.

1) States the question..."Calculate the .

2) Tells you how to solve it...."Remember that..

3) Is irrelevant...."The urine sample is..
