i know how to name simple coordination compunds but this one got me confused [Pt(NH3)4I2][PtI4]
how to start knaming this coumpiund where is the complex ion and the ligands

You need to specify the metal oxidation state. You don't give charges for your complex ions, but assuming they are 2+ and 2- it would be tetraamminediiodoplatinum(IV) tetraiodoplatinate(II).
