d100 spacing of p6mm space group
« on: February 12, 2015, 09:59:16 AM »
Greetings,

I am doing some research on the synthesis of SBA-15. The XRD patterns for a SBA-15 are typical for a 2D hexagonal mesostructure (p6mm). Now what I don't fully understand is what the physical meaning ,when it is mentioned that the d100 spacing is 6 nm, is supposed to be . Is it the distance between two pore centers or the pore diameter?

Best regards

Not that I am convinced I understand your question fully, but in general distances given in this context are related to the repeatability of the structure - so I would expect it to be a distance between the same element in adjacent cells, not size of any object inside the cell. I can be wrong though.
