Redox

Hellow guys, Im new here.
I wonder how to determine the medium of redox reaction what I mean is in what medions redox occurs acidic or basic.
In this equation I think its basic because KMnO4+Na2SO3+H2O--->MnO2+Na2SO4+KOH we have base as product?

Rule of thumb for permanganate is - it gets reduced to Mn2+ in low pH, to MnO2 in neutral solutions, and to MnO42- in high pH.
