Creating a Buffer Solution
« on: March 01, 2015, 10:45:32 PM »
Hello! I have to design a buffer solution and follows these guidelines:
-pH 6.5 (maintain ±0.10 units on addition of 1 mL of 1 M HNO3 and 1 mL of 1 M NaOH to separate 100mL batches of your buffer).
-Volume: 100mL
-Give the pKa of the equilibrium

I would really appreciate any help with this. I am having great difficulty with acids and bases and if I could get explanations it would be amazing. I was told to use the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation but I do not even know how to start with this!
