% Yield

C3H404       +             C8H8O2            -->  C10H10O3

Malonic Acid + 3-methoxybenzaldehyde --> m-methoxyinnamic acid

1g               + 1cm^3                          ---> 0.4759g

Anyone willing to shed a bit of light on how % Yield would be calculated?

Think in moles.
Try and write a balanced reaction equation, as you have not included the complete set of products.
Draw out the chemical structures, it may help you.
Use the density of 3-methoxybenzaldehyde to work out how much 1 mL weights.
