iodniation of aromatic compounds using electrochemistry
« on: April 01, 2015, 10:27:38 PM »
Hello all,
I am currently working on an organic research in which I am trying to oxidize molecular iodine using electro oxidation and then react it with a bunch of deactivated aromatic compounds. I started with the easiest of all, benzene. I am using 10% TFA and dichloromethane as the solvents. All this done in a cell divided by a glass frit under a nitrogen atmosphere. Even though, this reaction should proceed readily I have yet to see any product. I was wondering if anyone of you has suggestions, tips or just literatures concerning this project. Appreciate it!   :)
