Column with reverse temperature profile
« on: June 01, 2015, 06:58:39 AM »
HI, dear colleagues!
Ihave  a little bit discussion problém. I simulate proces with quenching column of steam out of cracking reactor. Normaly, equilibrium temperatures are bottom 146°C, top 126°C.   Upgrade idea of this topic is save the heat and reuse it in proces. For my case, steam of  EDC, VCM, Hcl  (t=450°C) is cooling with quench stream from quench column. I simulated it with watersteam generator, and then I have to little bit change flows on  quench stream, flows on reflux too. everything is ok till the top stream is partial condensing. The liquid stream I send back into 10et. column  on the top, rest of reflux,  to be needed to work the column, is after deviding stream after  next partial condensasion of steam from flash after first  partial condensation. Strange for me is, column top temperature is now 5°C higher then bottom! its possible work this column longer time?
