Heating values of a fuel
« on: June 09, 2015, 09:52:33 AM »
Hi,

I have a question for specialists working with fossil fuels: How important is a variation of 2 MJ/kg for the heating value of a fuel?

You don't need to be a specialist to answer this question.

Ok, back to the basics.

One rule of thumb is to decompose your gas/fuel in all the compounds, then keep in mind that methane(gas) = 890Kj/mol and for every additional CH2 add 660 Kj/mol. It should be a good aproximation
