Polymer reactions
« on: July 19, 2015, 11:34:11 PM »
Could someone please help with the probable products for the reaction between Diethylene glycol (C4H10O3) and copper chloride(CuCl2)in the presence of ammonia solution (NH4OH). What would happen if the complex product is heated in the presence of inert gas?

You have an Ammin-Komplex and probably the Diol will be oxidized and copper reduced to Cu-I or Cu-0.
