oxidation using ethanolic silver nitrate

i need to oxidize CH2Br moiety to aldehyde group using ethanolic AgNO3 then reflux but this reported procedure didn't mention the amounts and time so i need help also i read that AgNO3 and ethanol cause explosion !!1 How i do this reaction without any hazards ???

To find out how much to add, we gotta figure out the mechanism first.  Can you draw the mechanism? "obtained in good yield 39.5%"....Have you considered other methods? here's one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kornblum_oxidation
