According to the two reactions below;
1-chloro-2,2-dimethylbatune + (warm NaOH
3))
1-chloro-2-methylpropane + (cold dil. NaOH)

1) identify whether the reactions are Nucleophilic Substitutions (SN) or Elimination (E) reaction.

2) Complete the reaction mechanismin each and name the products.

3) i) rate expression for both
   ii) predict what will happen if concentration of base is halved
  iii) simultaneously doubling and quadrupling the concentration of alkyl halide (RX) and the base (Nu) respectively.

I'd like to welcome you, jonty:, to the Chemical Forums but I'd like to ask you to read the Forum Rules{click}.  We like to help you learn to help yourself.  Can you begin to show us your attempt?

You have two reactions, and are asked to identify each reaction, each reactions products and the rate equation for each, under 5 varying conditions.  That's asking us over 20 questions in one posting.  Can you begin to work on the first part of each?  It will help you organize the question into what you know, what you can figure out, and what you need help with.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
