N-propanol absorbance

I measured n-propanol absorbance by UV spectrophotometry. The requiremet is at 270 nm max 0,030. What is the reason if my result is higher than requirement?
I use blank as purified water and cuvette is 1 cm. Maybe any degradation products?

where did you get the propanol from? how pure is it? impurities may upset it. It could also be that the required absorbance is wrong.
