what could be the reagents?

So I have the reactant 1 2-dimethylcyclopropene  and I need to receive the product 1 3 butanediol.
could anyone suggest a reagent and the right conditions?

From 1,2-dimethylcyclopropene  you can obtain quite easily  2,4-pentanediol.
1,3-butanediol you can obtain from 1-methylcyclopropene.

I need to receive the product 1 3 butanediol.
For this kind of 'reaction' i would suggest reacting $ with Ebay to receive the desired product.
