Converting carboxylic acid groups on sugars to carboamides
« on: February 14, 2016, 04:01:35 AM »
Hello all,

I am interested in converting carboxylic acid groups on sugars to carboxamide groups (either R-C(C=O)NH2 or R-C(C=O)NHR or variations thereof). I am a fan of click chemistry due to it's relatively straight forward solvent-free or water based solvent choice and generally biocompatible approach.

My preferences:
-few steps
-non-toxic and easily attainable reactants/catalysts
-Not cyto-toxic!!!!

Thanks in advance
