Please help me match IR spectrum
« on: March 11, 2016, 06:27:27 PM »
Hey guys, I am a materials student so Im really bad with this matching IR stuff (we never actually learnt it in lectures but I am suppose to use it for identifying a material).
If u guys could help me match this I would be extremely grateful.
I've given it a couple of goes, the IR machine had a 60% certainty on polyacrylate.
Please help, thanks

You can also Google "IR spectrum of polyacrylate" and see how your spectrum is the same, and what's different.  Identifying the different groups will tell you what else it may be, so maybe the reason it only looks "60%" to the instrument is because the baseline is a little noisy.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
