Percentage Error Of A Volumetric Flask?
« on: May 08, 2006, 01:28:41 PM »
What is the percentage error of a 250 cm3 volmetric flask?

The ones we have in school have no scale on it just a line where the 250cm3 point is and I'm struggling to figure out what it is.

Thank you

I really hope that the volumetric flasks in your school have only one line, there are no volumetric flasks with graduation.

Well, on the 250mL-volumetric flasks that we use at school the Error is +0.05mL

There are different classes of analytical glass - and these different classes have different precision.

True, there are "A", "AS" and "B" volumetric flasks - "A" is the one with less error, "B" is the one with most error.

There is some standard. Classes are named with letters, but glass is marked with colors. Or something, I haven't seen glass lab since last century ;)
