Assay methods for plant enzyme / terpenoid at low conc.
« on: March 19, 2016, 12:43:33 AM »
I need to assay the terpenoid yield produced by various recombinant E coli strains that have been genetically modified to express the enzyme needed for this specific terpenoid.

Other than GC-MS what are typical options available to assay the activity? The terpinoid molecule is expected to be present at low conc. (approx 10 mg / Litre). And the enzyme would be even lower concentrations.

If a qualitative analysis is OK do any other options open up? e.g. antibody assays etc?
