EDTA solution in acetone or methanol
« on: March 31, 2016, 05:23:33 AM »
Hi guys.

I need to prepare a non-aqueous EDTA solution preferable in acetone or methanol. Unfortunately, EDTA is slightly soluble in acetone. I tried to heat it and to adjust the pH with an organice base Can somebody help me out with an advice for my problem.

Thanks for the quick answer.  :) The problem is that the solution has to be almost complete free of water.  Its for bone histology. I need this solution to decalcify bone sections with an afterwards fixation of the sections in acetone. So I thought of combining the two steps with an EDTA/Acetone solution.
