Extracting solubles after double displacemet
« on: April 26, 2016, 11:47:22 PM »
What is the best way to extract the last bit of the most soluble compound of a double displacement reaction.  If 400ml of water is added to 200g of compounds (resulting in 70g highly soluble & 130g insoluble precipitate).  The precipitate is very "fluffy" and traps maybe it's weight or more of water (water with the dissolved soluble in it).

ATM I only have access to gravity filtration so it seems the only option is to do many washes to extract the soluble.  Is there a better way to do this and is vacumm filtration the best method to extract the liquids?
