Expiration of chemicals, after opening.
« on: May 25, 2016, 02:47:41 AM »
Hi,

I have recently started a new job, in a small laboratory for a brick manufacturer.

Having had recent issues with CaCO3 results, could anybody please tel me how long these four chemicals remain viable for use in testing, once they have been opened?

Basically, do they go off, and will this effect my results.

They are Triethanalomine, Diluted Hydrochloric acid, Potassium Hydroxide and E.D.T.A.

Many thanks in advance.

Daniel.

That link links to a posting, that links to another posting, that lets you know:  This is a common question, and there is no easy answer.  You will have to check from time to time to be sure your reagents are good.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
