Hi could someone please explain how to calculate the following problem?

i have an aqueous dye solution (the dye and its concentration is known; lets say 1 mM) and i know its absorbance at a defined wavelength (lets say 0.35 a.u.).

Now i put an unknown amount of the dyed solution in 1L water and do again measure absorbance at the same wavelength (lets assume this value is 0.11 a.u.) - is it possible to calculate the volumetric increase? so how many mL of my dyed solution did i put into the water?

Dye molecule as well as an absorbance calibration curve with different concentrations of the dye is available.

Isn't it just a direct and simple application of the Beer–Lambert law plus dilution?
