The ligand dpzca
« on: June 25, 2016, 07:14:02 AM »

This is the anionic ligand dpzca.
1. How many binding sites does the ligand have?
2. In how many sites can the ligand be attached to the metal simultaneously?
3. What is the type of the ligand?

Thank you guys

Greetings, shon1802:,and welcome to the Chemical Forums.  According to the Forum Rules{click}, we'd like to see the beginnings of your attempt.

Let's being to work together on this one.
This is the anionic ligand dpzca.

Thank you for this, I'd never heard of it before.

1. How many binding sites does the ligand have?

Since I'd never heard of  it before, I have to ask, binding to what?  That isn't obvious.  Perhaps your class notes or textbook fill that in for you, but we don't have that.

2. In how many sites can the ligand be attached to the metal simultaneously?

OK, this is a metal chleator of some sort.  Which metals?  It will depend on the cation's charge.

3. What is the type of the ligand?

Now this is a definition.  Either you read it in a textbook or class notes, or you don't and we read it for you and tell you.  We can't really "help" with a definition.  If you know some definitions of types of ligand this could be, you can compare them and let us know what might be the possible, or what you're slightly unsure of.

Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

Search google: Pyrazine-imide complexes. You can find a few references.
