Calculation of temperature change (help)
« on: July 01, 2016, 10:33:24 AM »
I have found how to calculate energy transfer for temperature change, but I am not sure how to calculate temperature change for a certain quantity resting in an ambient temperature. I just haven't been able to find a formula containing all the variables I have. Here is my question:

In a room with an ambient temperature of 78°F, how long would it take for 7 gal. of 60°F water to raise 1°F? Answer and explanation of how to calculate would be much appreciated.

You are not asked to calculate temperature change, but the time taken for a given temperature change. It is impossible to calculate this without a lot of additional information. What information are you given?
