hello i am new to this forum and not a chemist, but i am in need of some help. I recently bought a a house and it contains a 50 gallon drum of some chemical that is considered a level 3 health hazard.. i would like to know how hazardous that is and what it is really the label says as written.

Tallowalkyl di-(2-hydroxiethyl) betaine ;contains sodium chloride

It's a surfactant, possibly used in cosmetics formulations. I certainly wouldn't dump it down the drain. Call your local waste disposal people, see what they recommend.

By the way, the CAS registry number (70750-46-8 for this chemical) is a unique numerical designation for each chemical. Since sometimes chemicals have multiple scientific and common names, it is helpful to use this number to prevent ambiguity or confusion. If you contact a chemical waste specialist, you should be able to supply this number (along with the chemical's name) and then they can figure out the right way to dispose of it without being uncertain of what it is you have.

ok thanks that is a big help. i opened it up and realised there was some in there and got a little worried. level 3 sounds sketchy..
basicly what im understanding is that it is used for mixing certain liquids
