The density of HCL would be calculated by dividing the mass of the HCl by the volume it occupies.
Under those circumstances you could only make a qualitative deduction that HCl is more dense than water. You would need to be given more information such as volume of HCl when asked figure out the density of the HCl.
Density of the solution, density of HCl, and density of Water are three different things. HCl and water are miscible so I don't know how it would retain the same density when combined with water.
