pKa value of dicarbonyl compounds
« on: September 23, 2016, 06:13:07 AM »
As we see in the pKa value table in organic chemistry, the pKa value of α-hydrogen for-

acetylacetone(diketone): 9
ethyl acetoacetate(β-keto ester): 11
diethyl malonate(diester): 13

What causes this difference? Is there any special things for anionic ester resonance?
