Factors that slow down the rate of Complexion

Right now I have a few crystalline products that I would love to characterize under SEM but the crystals formed are very small which I believe is due to the rate of production.

I've been varying solvents to slow down the rate, would anyone have any experience with this and help out a newbie?  ??? :D
