Heat evolved affects reactor contents
« on: December 27, 2016, 04:27:21 PM »
If I calculate the amount of energy released during a reaction, how can I calculate the temperature rise of the reactor contents. For example, the reaction of alkyl benzene with oleum in a cst reactor is exothermic. How can I determine the temperature of the products?

Your current question is more general, these articles will help. this concept is tough to understand, so don't get discouraged if it takes some time.

if you have a specific example problem, I could show you how to do it.
