Hello,

Im trying to solubilize magnesium sulfate monohydrate (MgSO4.H2O) also known as kieserite, the safety data sheet said that its solubility in water is high but when I try it stay insolubilized. is the kieserite soluble or not??? please help.

Pure MgSO₄·H₂O is water soluble, as a mineral may contain some insoluble parts.

Don't people use magnesium sulfate as a drying agent?  Am I correct in assuming that hygroscopic salts are all soluble in water?  I'm sure this isn't your case but once I tried making a 1M solution of silver nitrate with tap water and couldn't get it dissolve even under high heat so I did some research and tap water has Cl- ions that bind with the silver ion forming non soluble silver chloride... so I used DI water and worked like a charm

How much MgSO₄ are you using, and what volume of water?

Anhydrous magnesium sulfate is a common drying agent for organic solvents.
