Help with solution using activity factor
« on: February 21, 2017, 12:29:33 PM »
Hello,
I am trying to reach a final concentration of 50 mg/ ml of a drug solution using an activity factor of 657 ug/ml (so for every milligram of ingredients only 657 micrograms are considered active drug). My final volume will be 10 ml. I think what I need to do is convert the activity factor to a conversion factor. (657ug/mg)(1 mg/1000 ug) = 0.657. Then 50 mg/ml = 500 mg/ml -->? So if my final mg needs to be 500 active drug per 10 ml then I need to set it up like this: 500 mg = 0.657x so 500mg/.657 = x = 761 mg. Does that sound correct? It's been a couple years since I did this so help is very much appreciated. Thanks!
