Foam Problem on Textile Dye
« on: March 06, 2017, 07:28:36 AM »
Hello;

I'm working in textile industry.  I'm having problem with foam. Dye makes so much foam. I can't use so much antifoam agent due to restrictions of silicone on textile.
As you can see in the photo, there is small tank. Under the tank, there is pump to feed dyeing reservoir, under dyeing reservoir dye comes due to height into tank.  Enterance level of recirculation pipe close to upper level of tank.

What would you recommend to solve this foam problem? Do you have any suggestion to use on antifoam agent?

Temperature of dye solution is around 65C.

Thanks for the help in advance.

There are non-silicone based defoamers. Have you considered any of them?

I will talk to anti-foam supplier. Is there any another suggestion?
Should circulation pipe inside to liquid or up to liquid?
