Theoretical Silicon Content
« on: March 20, 2017, 07:20:38 AM »
Hi all,
I am having a bit of trouble trying to determine the amount of Silicon in a substitiuted-hydroxyapatite following my reaction. By my calculations I am expecting 0.86% Si, however XRF analysis is returning a much higher value closer to 5%.
The components of the reactions is as follows:

41mM of Si(OCOCH3)4
203mM of (NH4)2HPO4
290mM of (CaNO3)2ยท4H2O

Can anybody confirm what wt% of Si would be expected following this reaction?

The question is, what is the final formula of the component after reaction. Bei addition of all componenets I got 0,14% w.w . Calculates all componentes in mass and addition of them.
