TES reduction
« on: June 16, 2017, 01:01:02 PM »
Hi,

I am performing a bencylic carbonyl reduction with TES on a multi-kilo scale. The results (in terms of purity of the product) have been really good. Nevertheless, I still canĀ“t find a way to get rid of the trietylsilanol on such a large scale (column chromatography is not an option)

Any advise?

Thanks

Distill? It boils at 99C at 1 atm. The dimer boils at that temp too. With a decent pump it shouldn't take too much heat to get both of these out.
