Calculating Root Mean Squared
« on: October 13, 2017, 08:52:01 AM »
Hi,

A question has asked me to calculate the Root Mean Squared speed of Ammonia gas at 299 Kelvin.

The answer to that question is in the picture attached.

I have no idea why the Molar Mass has been multiplied by 10^-3.

Try writing it out yourself on paper, but this time, insert your units for each substituted variable.  And cancel those units, until you are left with just the units in the answer.

I'm going to have to look up this formula to understand it.  But you should start with that process.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
