anions
« on: February 22, 2018, 11:31:17 AM »
why do liquid anions change smell when mixed with different substances .

i did a test to observe what happens when i mix different anions with substances.

bromide =cream precipitate
chloride = white precipitate
iodide = yellow
nitrate =browning formation
carbonate = milky with limewater
sulphate = white with BaCl

why do they change?

What substances did you mix them with? (I'm guessing it wasn't the same for all of them!)
What reactions occur in these mixtures? What have you learned about them?
And what has it got to do with their smell?
