Standard electronic configuration
« on: May 11, 2018, 08:57:15 AM »
Hello!!! I have never understood, or I have not been able to explain well, why some elements do not "follow" the "standard" electronic configuration, I explain myself, for example in cases like the N instead of seeing the 1s2 2s2 2s2 2p3 configuration and seeing the 1s2 2s2 4p3, I mean that, that does not follow the established order. And I would also like to know why some elements don't fill their orbitals completely, for example one that ends in 4f14 5d5 6s2 instead of 4f14 5d7, probably is not very difficult, but I repeat, I have never known the reason. Thank you from now on.
