What is this reaction?
« on: May 13, 2018, 08:54:52 AM »
Hey guys, ive been studing for exams and benzidiazepine synthesis comes around. One of the reactions that leads to this kind of compounds is this one. Does anyone has any idea what reaction is it? Does it have a name? What is the mechanism? Seems like a deprotonation of the nitrile and then like nucleophilic substitution of one of the NO2 oxygens.. seems realy weird stuff. I cant find anything about it.

thanks
