Synthesis of Aspirin
« on: August 07, 2018, 01:43:31 PM »
When synthesizing aspirin, is it necessary to use a reflux condenser? I carried the experiment out in an open system under the fume hood. Is there a high chance of losing aspirin by evaporation when using an open system?

Think about what happens when you heat a solvent to its boiling point?
