R group of Methionine

I cannot seem to find the name of the R group attached to the Methionine, it's driving me crazy. Please help.

Not sure what you mean, can you elaborate on the context?

R is typically used when referring to a group of compounds sharing some common part, methionine is a specific compound with well defined composition and structure.

Do you mean the R in the generic formula for α-amino acids - which for e.g. alanine is methyl?

yes, for example it's Hydrogen in Glycine, Indole in Tryptophan and methyl in Alanine.
what about Methionine

I guess you would call it ethyl methyl sulfide or thioether
