H2SO4 vs NaOH
« on: November 12, 2018, 02:06:04 PM »
Hello,
Suppose we have a  H2SO4 solution in water. We add NaOH and there's a reaction:

H2SO4 + 2NaOH +H2O -> Na2SO4 + 2H2O.

The question is:
How much (volume)of a 12pH NaOH is needed to completely neutralize 25cm^3 of 0.001M H2SO4 solution?

Edit: From this equation we can see that we need 2 moles of NaOH to neutralize 1 mole of H2SO4. But what further?

In your equation there is one water to much.

You have to calculate how much molar is the NaOH pH 12.  If you know the amount of mole /liter then calculate it for the 25 ml. On the other hand you know the molarity of the sulfuric.
