Nickiroo:
I can’t figure these out, help?
I already tried using RICE tables and trying to figure out what to do, however I can’t seem to get the correct pH, all my attempts have failed. This is for FRQ practice, please help.
Question 1:
125 mL of a 0.525M HCl is mixed with 125 mL of a buffer system containing 1M acetic acid and 1M sodium acetate. Find the pH of the solution. The Ka of acetic acid is 1.8*10^-5
Question 2:
125 mL of a .5M NaOH is mixed with 125 mL of .5 M acetic acid. Find the pH of the solution. The Ka of acetic acid is 1.8*10^-5
Babcock_Hall:
Have you tried using the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation?
