Perfluorated? fluorated?
« on: May 05, 2011, 11:24:34 PM »
Hi,

Can anyone tell me what's the difference between "perfluorated" and "fluorated" compounds? Does the former mean all hydrogens are replaced by fluorenes, while the latter means hydrogens are partly replaced by fluorenes? Thank you.

Yes. As you said, perfluorated means all hydrogens replaced by F, while fluorated means partial/complete  (used in a more general sense).
