KMnO4 has a strong purple color, and it is a powerful oxidizing agent. Its oxidation can be shown by the change in color, when its purple discolors.
Which one of these compouds will *not* provoke the discolorment of a solution with KMnO4?
a) acetaldehyde
b) cyclohexene
c) benzene <----- this one is the answer
d) ethanol
e) vinyl-benzene
