Title: crystal violet kinetics experiment equations
Post by: shryocdj on April 09, 2006, 04:33:01 PM
Hi, so I'm kind of confused about these kinetics equations.  I understand how to look at the graph and determine which order the reaction is.  But I have to figure out the Kobs and the equation I have (for first order) is ln A = -KobsT * ln A(sub 0).

so rearrange the equation to solve for Kobs, got that. put Im not sure which A values to use. Do I just pick a random absorbance reading and use that for the time and ln A? What about A(sub 0)?

Secondly, I have to determine x and y.  Im probably thinking too hard, but that has me confused too. Im assuming it is using the equation of the line from the graph, but beyond that I'm kinda stumped.

Any info would be really helpful!
