Post by: Gweedo8 on July 06, 2009, 05:12:48 PM

a)Intermolecular forces are generally stronger than bonding forces.
b)The potential energy of molecules decrease as they get closer to one another.
c)Energy is given off when the attraction between two molecules is broken.
d)Increasing the pressure on a solid usually causes it to become a liquid.
e)None of these are true.

Please read forum rules (http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php?topic=33740.0). You wrote you did it already - but it seems like you should try again. Especially point 4.

Ok so I know he didn't follow protocol, but I am still curious what the answer is. I know A and D are wrong. I've never learned anything about PE and distance relative to molecules, but from what i know about PE I want to say B is also wrong? Help?
