Luminol - best way to go???
« on: September 24, 2006, 12:21:42 PM »
Hello,

I am undertaking an investigation into the oxidation of Luminol with Potassium Hexacyanoferrate (III) in the presence of Sodium Hydroxide.

What factor change would be the most interesting to investigate the effect on the rate of reaction?

Temperature
Amount of each component
or other Transition metal salt

Also, any tips on how to add the solutions quickly and measure the light emmited (i.e Equipment, set etc)

Thanks allot

You would need access to a  UV-Vis.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex
